The Punjab School Education Department (SED) and Higher Education Department (HED) have rejected reports that summer vacations will be announced for schools and colleges amid a severe heat wave in the province.
In a joint statement, SED and HED clarified that media reports suggesting that summer vacations at schools and universities will start before June 1 are completely false.
Students should refrain from wasting time with false media reports and concentrate on their studies, as the decision on summer vacations in schools and universities has already been made.
Until the start of the summer break, teachers are instructed to ensure students remain adequately hydrated and any cases of heat stroke should be reported immediately to medical authorities, the statement concluded.
Earlier this month, SED and HED wrapped up a two-month summer vacation at schools and colleges across the province.
According to the official schedule, all educational institutions in the province will be closed from June 1 to July 31, and educational activities will resume in the province from August 1.
