Government of Sindh to Hire 1500 Teaching interns 2022

 

    

The Sindh Cabinet approved the hiring of trainee teachers. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah. Higher secondary schools and universities in the province face a severe shortage of subject matter specialists. Teaching interns will be hired to overcome the teacher shortage in public schools.

318 upper secondary schools in the province face a severe shortage of subject specialists for the intermediate classes. The cabinet has approved a policy for hiring Teaching interns. The Sindh Public Utilities Commission would be in charge of the recruitment process. The cabinet decided to hire interns based on need purely on merit. It is also decided that interns will be offered PKR: 50,000 / - a monthly allowance.

The teaching fellows will be hired on a temporary basis. Interns will carry out their duties until permanent staff is hired. Teaching fellows will not be regularized. Of the 1,500 interns, 240 would be hired for physics, 240 for chemistry, 120 for mathematics, 120 for botany and zoology, 240 for English, 60 for Pakistani studies, and 60 for Islamiat, Sindhi and Urdu.

The Cabinet also approved the hiring of vice-chancellors and other personnel from public sector universities. The cabinet also discussed and approved the draft Law of the Selection Committee 2021 for the appointment of rectors and other officials of the universities of the public sector of the province. The committee should be made up of the chief minister, composed of the chairman of the Sindh Higher Education Commission, the secretary of the board and universities, the secretary of university education and other interested parties.
